Past Production
24th to 26th November 2016. The Holton Players present “Role Play”. This is the funniest and, at the same time, the most thought provoking of Alan Ayckbourn’s successful trilogy “Damsels in Distress”, first performed in Scarborough in 2001.
This play is “vintage Ayckbourn territory”: The Independent.
After the great success of the May 2014 production of “Man of the Moment”, the Holton Players turn again to Alan Ayckbourn and now present his classic comedy “Role Play”. A loving young couple invite their parents to meet each other for the first time with the plan to announce and celebrate their engagement. With the unexpected arrival of a lap dancer and her minder the evening quickly descends into the dinner party from hell.
Russell Kilmister returns as director after his run of successful plays with the Players in recent years (The 39 Steps, Separate Tables,The Constant Wife).
As an appetiser before the main event, the Players will also be presenting Alan Ayckbourn’s masterful comedy “Between Mouthfuls”, a short one Act play set in a restaurant.
We hope and believe that you will have a great evening of entertainment.
