Macbeth
A noble soldier, an ambitious wife, prophecies of kingship – murder and revenge. Shakespeare’s most thrilling and bloodiest play, Macbeth, takes to the stage in early spring. It is a tale of magic, murder, guilt, darkness, good and evil.
Returning from battle, the Scottish general encounters three strange women, who promise him great success and honour. But there is a catch that involves dark deeds and desperate remedies.
Staged in modern dress, Macbeth is directed by Peter Fanning, with Ges Foster as the Scottish lord. The production is a must for anyone who enjoys live theatre.
This exciting, cut down version is jointly staged by Holton Players and St Mary’s Church.
Please note that the Saturday performance is preceded by a short talk from William Poole of New College, Oxford.
